SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man who was stabbed earlier this month in the neck during a fight near Broadway and Alhambra Boulevard died Sunday, police said.

Police said Kenneth Vega, 41, is being held on a charge of murder in connection with the stabbing.

On July 13, police responded to a fight involving Kenneth Vega, 41, the suspect, and Jesse Perez who had an injury to his neck from a knife, police said. The victim was transported to the hospital for surgery.

Vega also punched the victim in the neck and head, according to police. Police later arrested Vega at a relative’s house.
