We’re going to be honest with you: There is really no way to build up the following story. It’s just one of those things that is mathematically possible in the vastness of universe, but when it happens, it’s creepier than those twin little girls from The Shining.

Where it Gets Weird:

In July 1975, newspapers on both sides of the Atlantic went nuts over the death of 17-year-old Erskine Lawrence Ebbin, the poor kid having been knocked off his moped by a taxi in Hamilton, Bermuda.

You see, the previous year his brother was killed … on the same street. Also by a taxi. Both kids were 17, and they were hit almost one year apart. Oh, and they happened to be driving the same moped.

Moped show-boating claims two more lives.

Well … OK. Mopeds are inherently unsafe, right? And maybe they both drove recklessly. It could happen.

Where it Gets Even Weirder:

Before we go any further, please know that Cracked had to check with several overseas libraries and even the Library of Congress to verify this report.

WE STOP AT NOTHING.

The following clipping appeared on page nine, column three of The Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph on July 21, 1975:

That’s right.

The two brothers were killed by the same taxi.

With the same driver.

Carrying the same passenger.

Almost exactly one year later.

The Final Destination movies exist, folks, and you are living in them right now.

It’s worth noting that death can occasionally be bribed with coke.

A 16-year-old boy has been indicted as an adult on charges of murdering two British men in Sarasota, Florida, police said Wednesday.

Shawn A. Tyson was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in last month’s shooting deaths of James M. Cooper, 25, and James Thomas Kouzaris, 24, both of England, Sarasota Police Chief Mikel T. Hollaway said in a written statement.

Tyson will be tried as an adult and, if convicted of first-degree murder, could receive life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, Hollaway said.

The neighborhood where the British men were found is a housing project in north Sarasota called Newtown, police said.

The teen suspect lives near the crime scene, a police report said, and he had been arrested earlier in April on a charge of aggravated assault with a handgun.

Police said the murders were an isolated incident at the complex, where the housing authority has been working to address problems.

The two men were believed to be friends who recently graduated from college and were in Sarasota to celebrate.

iWonder what evidence they have besides just living near the scene and an older charge not (conviction) of aggravation assault with a gun charge have to do with him getting arrested ? o i c lmao he confessed why didnt they just say so… damnit made me look stupid.

Coming from a young male it seems this brother got over his head real quick in life but what is the real problem these tragedies happen is the question is it his society to leave him at the door step and not let him in. a lot of people complain but don’t never take no actions. how can we ever be a factor if we never been a actor… Give this generation some opportunities quick or you will just be reading stories like this in the  news every night.

According to the charming man in the ad, a “medical specialist” surveyed a group of Chesterfield smokers and found they had no problems with their throats, noses or mouths. Medical specialists were probably thrilled to learn that Chesterfield would be pairing their endorsement with an announcement of the “first and only” super-sized cigarette. Because if smokers of regular Chesterfields show no adverse effects, smokers of king-size probably develop super powers.

Still, it’s not the most dubious claim they’ve ever made about cigarettes. That award goes to …

Night club singer was arrested

Night club singer Simon Ledger was arrested following a performance at the Driftwood Beach Bar on Britain’s Isle of Wight in April after a patron complained to police. Ledger was covering the 1974 hit “Kung Fu Fighting,” and two customers of Chinese descent reported that they felt victims of illegal “racially aggravated harassment

In Tooting, England, in May, an unnamed senior was rescued by firefighters after he got his testicles caught in a shower seat in which he was sitting while bathing. [The Guardian, 5-11-2011]

Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., apologized and paid the bill in June for exhuming the body of the recently deceased Kenneth Manis. The man who had shared Mr. Manis’ hospital room during his final days had reported that his dentures were missing, and the hospital determined that they had been mistakenly buried with Mr. Manis.
